What I'll miss-#1

One of the reasons I'm blogging is to have an online diary of my thoughts, emotions, and experiences.  As I mentioned in my last post, we sold our house.  This makes for some very hectic times ahead.  But aside from all of the stress of moving (you know--packing, arranging transportation, figuring out how to move 3 vehicles, selling things you don't want to take, etc.) there is also the emotional loss that comes with leaving a place.  Today, I want to talk about one of the things I will miss when we move.

A major attraction for us when we moved to Charlotte was the benefit of living so close to my grandparents.  Any time I had visited in the past there was always a 12 hour long drive to contend with.  It was exhausting!  But moving to Charlotte cut the drive time to a comparatively short 4 hours.  This made visits much more frequent.  In fact, we went this past weekend for a visit.  Such a great trip!  We went to the beach, we played mini-golf, got ice creams, played Euchre till all hours of the night, and had all sorts of shenanigans that can only be had with your grandparents.  ::sigh:: We'll miss being so close to people we love so much.

WE...SOLD...OUR...HOUSE!!!!!

Bittersweet news of last week:  After only 2 weeks on the market, our house sold.  Amazing yet sad at the same time.  We'll really miss living in Charlotte.  This is all part of a group of many changes taking place in our lives right now.  The biggest change is our move to Ohio.  We sign over the house on May 28th and I will be moving with the kids up to Ohio to live with my very generous in-laws.  For those of you who have been faithfully following my blog, you might recall that the 5K is on May 22nd in Chicago.  May 22nd is now moving day as well!  Whew!

Before I go, I have a question for all of you blog-savvy readers.  How do I post my blog posts to facebook?

Confession

Alright ya'll, I have a confession to make.  It's true.  I'm a swagger.  I am a member of Swagbucks.  I find Swagbucks to be swagtastic and I want to share this dirty little secret with you for two reasons:

1) Maybe you'd like to be getting in on the swag too? and,

2) If you sign up under my name, I get bonus points.

What are swagbucks?  They are points that you earn by searching the internet.  As you accumulate points, you can accumulate prizes.  I've been a member of Swagbucks for 2 months now and have accumulated $30 in Amazon.com gift cards.  Not bad for just doing what I would do anyway--which is searching the internet.  I am planning what I will do with my Amazon gift cards...maybe I'll finally get that sweet camera?  Or maybe I'll get a Wii Fit to promote my healthy lifestyle?  Who knows!

If you want to cash in on Swagbucks, just click the link below.  Or you can type in this code:  http://swagbucks.com/refer/Braintumormama  I can definitely vouch for it--it is real--it works--I have the gift card money waiting in my amazon account as we speak.

Whew!  I'm glad I got that off my chest!!!!

Poof! and then it was gone!

So apparently Spring Break is over?  I think I blinked some time in there.  Maybe I blinked once and then here I am...sitting and blogging and it's Monday and it's gone.  Huh.  Weird.  Luckily, I was able to remember some of the highlights and catch a few pictures before it ended.

Brain Tumor Mama's TOP 5 Spring Break Favorites:

5. Getting some much-needed work done around the house.  Whew!  Thank goodness that stuff is done!

4. Having the time to thoughtfully purchase a double-jogging stroller for the children.

3. Extra time to prepare for the 5K!  We put that jogging stroller to the test.  We ran, we jogged, we walked and walked some more...

2. Creating new recipes...pictures to come of new exciting foods.  Yum!

1. Spending time with the family all day.  :o)  So fun!

Hello April!

I can't believe that it's already April.  Last year at this time, I pulled a phenomenal April Fool's joke of epic proportions.  I was pregnant with Isaac and emailed everyone saying that we had another ultrasound and the doctor said that we were having twins.  I thought it was pretty funny at the time--I wasn't working full time and it provided some much-needed entertainment in my life.  I got phone calls and emails and had to do some damage control (will you guys forgive me?), but it was worth the giggle.  I figure since I NEVER pull these things, one in a lifetime is permissible.

BUT this April Fool's Day, I am not doing any jokes or tricks or anything.  Instead, I'm providing a gift to all of my readers.  And presents certainly make up for past tom-foolery, right?  What could I give you that is so great to make up for last year's naughtiness?  Pictures of my adorable little children!!!!

I hope you enjoy these and have a very happy April!
