I got a (paying) job!

After (what feels like) years of searching, I have finally found a job that allows me to be home with my children, work with low-income kids, and actually earn money!  "What?!?" You might be thinking to yourself, "I didn't even know something like that existed!!"  Well, I it does, and it is magical!

I am working for an organization called After School All Stars.  I plan fun, engaging lessons for kids who stay after school to get academic help.  I also help out with enrichment activities for the kids as well.   I work Mon-Thur with time to plan.  With about a week under my belt, I have learned a lot and gained a lot of insight.  I am working with middle schoolers, which is opening up all kinds of vistas in my life perspective.  Having taught high school, it feels like I'm seeing my former students at an earlier point in their lives.  I'm hoping to help as many students as possible in the little amount of time I have.  Here's hoping, right?

Speaking of hope, I start my next round of chemo tonight.  Let's hope that this round is better than the last!
